Peculiarities of 1.8" Toshiba 10GAH drives

1.8" Toshiba 10GAH family is being produced for iPod players from Apple corp.
These drives use FAT32 file system for PC and HFS file system for MAC.

Data read/write operations on 10GAH have its own peciliarities. It's possible to read/write only even number of LBAs. Thus for data recovery from these drives the special plugin for Data extractor has been developed which uses capabilities of Toshiba utility.

There is instruction of how to recover the data from FAT32 file system below.

1.Launch Toshiba utility, select 10GAH family.

In the utility there are several functions available for this family:
- erase password
- read/write CP
- clear G-list
- clear SMART
- edit ID

2.In the menu "window" switch to utility selection menu (minimize Toshiba utility), launch Data Extractor and create new task "make data copy"

3.In the task settings of read command select "Read from active PC-3000 utility" and UDMA33 mode.

4.Now it's necessary to add virtual partition to the disk and indicate the parameters from the screen shot.

The field "Final LBA" depends on the capacity of the HDD.
For the MK8010GAH this value is mentioned on the picture.

5.In the next window indicate the parameters from the picture below

6.Click OK, data recovery is completed.
